Our organisation's approach to ESG principles is founded on a commitment to environmental sustainability, social responsibility and ethical governance. By investing in a 271 kWp solar PV system that meets 90% of our energy needs, initiating the Dubai CAN to promote the use of refillable water bottles and deploying electric and solar-powered machinery, we actively reduce our carbon footprint and champion sustainability. Our partnership with Liquid of Life and the implementation of eco-friendly water stations at events underline our dedication to minimising single-use plastic consumption, demonstrating our commitment to social responsibility.

Unique to our ESG initiatives is the integration of IoT devices to enhance operational efficiency and reduce the need for travel, reflecting our innovative approach to sustainability. Furthermore, our pursuit of ISO 14001 certification underscores our governance commitment to environmental management. The business objectives aligned with these efforts include leading in sustainability, reducing environmental impact and fostering a culture of social responsibility.

Through these initiatives, we are not only meeting but also exceeding our stated aims, demonstrating a successful integration of ESG principles into our core operations, which sets a benchmark in our industry for responsible and sustainable business practices.

These approaches have been incrementally embedded into our corporate culture in terms of ESG as reflected from the benefits that have been realized and achieved that served as instrumental and beneficial into maintaining a sustainable business operation in all aspects.

CSCEC ME recently released the first Sustainability report during COP28 event, in accordance with GRI Sustainability Reporting Standards and ISO 26000 – Guidance on Social Responsibility (2010) of the ISO. The report is a clear evidence of CSCEC ME’s Sustainability approach and strategies in terms of ESG principles that were realized through the achievements of its preset objectives and KPIs presented in the report.

Dubai Municipality values social responsibility and actively engages with local communities. Our community participation, campaigns, and public programs promote shared responsibility for environmental preservation and improved quality of life for all citizens.

A particularly remarkable initiative is the ""An Hour with the Cleaner"" program, which provided members of the community with the chance to participate in volunteer endeavors that collected refuse from a variety of settings—including markets, beaches, residential areas, commercial and industrial areas, and desert regions. These projects not only increase awareness but also actively engage citizens in the conservation and protection of our natural resources.

King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC) exemplifies sustainability integration into urban operations through its pioneering ‘Sustainability Excellence Framework’. This framework aligns with ISO 37120 to ensure data transparency and adopts the GHG Protocol to aggressively reduce carbon emissions. Furthermore, this framework commits to the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Reporting Standards and adheres to the United Nations Global Compact Principles, facilitating enhanced stakeholder engagement and actively contributing to the Saudi Green Initiative's national sustainability ambitions. By leveraging advanced data analytics and cutting-edge technology, KAEC fosters an environment of continuous improvement, adaptability, and tangible, measurable outcomes.

This strategic focus on effective communication with stakeholders underscores KAEC’s leadership in sustainable urban operations, demonstrating how cities can embody Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles to drive progress and innovation.
