
Omar Zhandarbekuly is a construction technology and innovation leader with expertise in leveraging automation, data-driven workflows, and scalable solutions to optimize construction and urban development operations. Over the past five years, he has focused on integrating technology, business intelligence, and process improvement into capital-intensive industries.
At Katerra, Omar played a key role in business intelligence, automation, and modular construction, helping to standardize and scale multifamily product offerings. At Rivian, as Center of Excellence Lead, he worked on developing scalable construction solutions for EV infrastructure, aligning real estate expansion with cutting-edge technology. His experience spans construction management, facilities technology, and EV infrastructure deployment, making him a recognized expert in construction tech and infrastructure development.
Beyond his industry experience, Omar is committed to thought leadership and knowledge-sharing in the AI space. He is the publisher of the ‘Voice of Construction’ newsletter, where he analyzes trends, emerging technologies, and key developments shaping the future of construction and AEC.
Omar holds a BSc in Civil Engineering from the University of Nottingham and a Master’s degree in Engineering Management from Duke University. Originally from Almaty, Kazakhstan, he has built more than 7M sq. ft of project and collaborated with industry leaders such as Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture, Werner Sobek, Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, and The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company.
